You now have several tools. Today you choose the ones that suit you. Some people like breathing best, others prefer writing, grounding or the thought check. There is no right answer, and the best tool is the one you will actually use. Another useful skill is stepping back from a thought without arguing with it: 'I am having the thought that I will fail.' Many people find this makes a thought feel more like weather passing through and less like an order. Finish by choosing your top two tools and when you will use them. A tool you have planned for is far easier to reach for on a hard day.

Practice

Try stepping back from one thought, then enjoy a slow warm drink pause.
