When we are stressed, small things set us off: a curt email, a relative's comment, a late auto. A pause of even ten seconds can change what comes out of your mouth. A simple recipe is to stop, step back, take a slow breath, notice what you feel and then choose what to do next. It does not mean you never get angry, because anger carries useful information. It means you decide what to do with it. Many people find this easiest when practised in calm moments first. Today, learn the steps so they are ready when something tests you.
