Let the body let go

Tense muscles tell the mind that something is wrong, and a relaxed body tells it the opposite. Tensing a muscle group for a few seconds and then releasing it is a well-known way to feel the difference between tight and loose. Many people find it helps most with shoulders, jaw and hands. Pair it with a bit of shaking and loosening, the way you might after a long journey. If any movement hurts, skip it or do it more softly. Do this at home, or in a quiet corner at work. The aim is not to feel perfect. It is to feel a little lighter than when you started.

Practice

Tense and release your muscles, then shake out your arms and legs.
