Calm the worry

Day 5 of 7

Give worry its own time

About 8 min

If you try to push worries away all day, they often come back louder at night. A different approach is to give them a home. Choose a short window, say fifteen minutes in the early evening, and jot down worries as they appear during the day for later. When the window comes, you read the list and decide what needs action. Many people find that the mind relaxes when it trusts that its worries will not be forgotten. Today, empty your head onto the page and park what does not need attention right now. Messy handwriting and half sentences are perfectly fine. This page is only for you.
