Many of us say yes to everything: one more task at work, one more favour for family, one more plan after a tiring week. A boundary is simply a clear, kind line about what you can do. It might sound like, 'I can do that by Thursday, not today,' or 'I cannot make it this time, but thank you for asking.' Boundaries are not selfish. They protect the energy you have so you can show up well. It may feel uncomfortable, especially where family expectations are strong. Start small and low stakes. First, name what you are feeling when you want to say no but are about to say yes.
